Booking Terms & Conditions

Before making a booking with Lower Mill please read our terms and conditions carefully as your pet(s) will only be accepted under our conditions:

  • All pets must have a vaccination certificate which is valid for the duration of the their stay – the booster and kennel cough for dogs must have been administered at least 3 weeks prior to the stay and the cat booster must have been administered at least 2 weeks prior to the stay.  If these have not been done or not done with enough  time we reserve the right to refuse your pet and you will be charged for the pre-booked date.
  • Pets must be up to date with fleaing and worming treatment; if we have to administer treatment an additional charge will be added to your bill.
  • All bookings made are only confirmed once a deposit has been received within 1 week of making the booking – if the deposit is not receieved we reserve the right to remove your booking entirely.
  • Payment for your pet’s stay is upon collection of them – we accept cash, card and cheques.   Pets cannot leave the premises without full payment being receieved.  If you are sending someone to collect your pet on your behalf you may want to pay for the stay when you drop off or whilst your pet is with us.
  • A full days board is charged for the day of arrival and a full day is charged for the day of departure if you collect your pet in our afternoon opening hours.  This is to allow for essential cleaning and preparation of the accommodation.  For example if you drop off on Monday afternoon and collect on Tuesday morning you will be charged for 1 day.
  • Your deposit is forfeited if your booking is cancelled with less than 4 weeks notice.
  • If you cancel a booking with more than 4 weeks notice then your deposit can be used for a future stay, but it will not be refunded.
  • If you cancel your booking within 7 days or less until the start of the booking you will be charged in full for the pre-booked dates.

  • Because we interact we our guests frequently whilst they are on holiday with us please do let us know if your dog has previously been aggressive towards other dogs or people.
  • The first time you bring your pet in we will require you to fill in a form detailing essential information about them.  It is very important we keep this form up to date, so if at any subsequent visits any of these details change please do let us know.
  • If your pet has visited another kennels or cattery within the last month please let us know before arriving.
  • If your cat has been sneezing prior to coming in please let us know; they may have to stay in one of our isolation chalets.  These chalets are exactly the same but they are just away from the other guests to avoid any illnesses spreading.
  • If your pets are not collected within 14 days of the date of when they are due to leave and Lower Mill have received no communication, we reserve the right to re-home your pets.  You will still be charged for your pet’s stay.
  • Failure to pay for your pet’s stay will result in legal action.
  • Please be aware that when you sign our client details form, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions and you are confirming your pet is in a fit and sound condition.  You are also agreeing to settle any veterinary costs that may occure during your pet’s stay.
